Customs entry automation

Stop keying entries. Start reviewing them.

Upload a commercial invoice. Odyssin reads the page, classifies every line to a 10-digit US HTS code with its reasoning, estimates the duty, and hands back a pre-filled ACE worksheet. Your broker reviews and files.

No templates to configure and nothing to set up per shipper. A supplier you've never seen before processes the same as one you've had a hundred times.

Why teams switch

What Changes On Day One

Not “eventually, after a six-month rollout.” The first invoice you upload.

Keep The Judgement, Drop The Keying

Your team stops retyping shipper details and line items and starts reviewing an entry that is already filled in. How much time that gives back depends on your volume and how clean your invoices are — run a month of your own through it and you'll have your own number rather than ours.

See the math

Grounded Codes, Not Guesses

Every classification is chosen from real HTS headings retrieved for that product — the model picks from a shortlist, it never invents a code. Each line comes back with a confidence score and one line of reasoning you can check.

How accurate is it?

See The Duty Before You File

Ad-valorem duty per line from the bundled HTS rates, plus MPF and HMF, freight allocation and a landed-cost total. Where a rate is specific or compound, it says so rather than quietly guessing a number.

What's in the estimate

Problems Surface Before CBP Finds Them

Missing country of origin, zero or missing declared value, unit values low enough to read as undervaluation, lithium batteries and likely FDA-regulated goods — all flagged on the entry, before it goes anywhere.

What gets flagged

Nothing Files Itself

Odyssin drafts; a licensed broker decides. Every line stays editable, the original document stays attached to the entry it produced, and every output carries a review disclaimer. There is no path where a machine-chosen code reaches CBP unseen.

How it works

Five Steps, Invoice To Worksheet

You do steps 1 and 4. Steps 2, 3 and 5 take a few seconds and run on their own.

  1. Step 01

    Upload The Invoice

Drag in a commercial invoice — PDF, PNG or JPG, up to 15 MB. Native exports, flatbed scans and phone photos all go the same way in.

  2. Step 02

    It Reads The Page

The original file goes to the model as an image, so table columns stay aligned. Parties, invoice metadata, line items, charges, taxes and terms come back structured. Text extraction and OCR are the fallbacks.

  3. Step 03

    Every Line Gets A Code

Candidate headings are retrieved locally from 19,949 USITC lines — plus any HS code the invoice itself declares — and the model chooses from that shortlist. Confidence and reasoning come back with each one.

  4. Step 04

    You Review And Correct

The results table is editable end to end. Compliance warnings and the duty estimate sit beside it. Change a code, a value or a party and the worksheet is rebuilt from your version.

  5. Step 05

    Export It

A pre-filled ACE entry worksheet as PDF, and CSV of the line items — one entry or your whole history. Everything you process stays in history with its original document.

Use cases

Same Bottleneck, Different Desk

Where classification volume actually hurts — and what changes when it stops.

Customs Brokers

Entry prep is the bottleneck, not the filing

The filing itself takes minutes. Getting there — reading the invoice, keying parties and line items, looking up codes for goods you have never classified — is where the hours go.

What Odyssin does:
returns the entry already filled in, with a code, reasoning and confidence on every line, so the work becomes review rather than transcription.
The win:
your licensed judgement goes on the lines that need it.

Freight Forwarders

Customs work you took on to keep the client

Entry prep sits next to the freight, done by people whose main job is something else. Unfamiliar commodities mean tariff lookups nobody has time for.

What Odyssin does:
does the lookup first and shows which HTS headings it considered, so a non-specialist has something concrete to check rather than a blank field.
The win:
the customs side stops being the step that waits.

Importers & E-commerce

Hundreds of SKUs, dozens of origins

Every new supplier brings a new invoice layout and goods nobody has classified before. Codes get copied from the last shipment because looking them up properly takes too long.

What Odyssin does:
classifies each line against the current HTS on its own merits, and uses any code the supplier declared as a signal rather than as the answer.
The win:
codes chosen for the goods, not inherited from a previous entry.

Manufacturers & Industrial Importers

Components, assemblies and parts that resist classification

Technical descriptions on a supplier invoice rarely map cleanly onto a tariff heading, and the difference between two candidate codes can be several points of duty.

What Odyssin does:
shows the shortlist it chose from and the reasoning for the line it picked, so a disagreement is a specific one you can settle.
The win:
classification decisions you can document and defend.

Trade Compliance Teams

Post-entry review with no time to do it properly

Spot-checking classifications means re-reading the original invoice against what was filed. Most teams sample a fraction and hope the rest holds.

What Odyssin does:
keeps the source document, the extracted data, the chosen code and its reasoning together on every entry, and exports the lot as CSV.
The win:
review the whole month, not a sample of it.

Duty & Landed Cost Planning

Quoting before the goods move

A customer wants a delivered price. Working out duty means classifying the goods first, which means the quote waits on a tariff exercise nobody has started.

What Odyssin does:
estimates ad-valorem duty per line plus MPF, HMF and allocated freight, and totals a landed cost from the invoice alone.
The win:
a defensible number early, with its assumptions written down.

Illustrative model, not measured results. Both figures are assumptions — 45 minutes to prepare an entry manually, 8 minutes to review a pre-filled one — not timings taken from Odyssin customers. Your numbers will differ; run your own invoices through it and measure them.

Features

Built For The Way Invoices Actually Arrive

Messy, inconsistent, and at the worst possible moment.

No Templates, Ever

A shipper's first invoice processes exactly like your thousandth. No layout mapping, no per-shipper configuration, no setup queue.

The Whole US HTS, Bundled

19,949 USITC tariff lines ship with the app. Candidates are retrieved locally for each product, so classification starts from the real schedule.

It Cannot Invent A Code

The model may only pick from the shortlist retrieved for that line. If it returns anything outside it, the code is kept but the confidence is cut and the line is flagged.

Reasoning On Every Line

A confidence score out of 100, one sentence of reasoning, and the candidate headings it chose between — so you can check the decision, not just the answer.

Reads The Page, Not Just The Text

The original file goes to the model as an image, so columns stay in their columns. A PDF text layer and OCR are the fallbacks, then a plain parser — a bad scan degrades rather than fails.

Duty & Landed Cost

Ad-valorem duty per line, MPF within its statutory floor and cap, HMF for ocean entries, freight allocated across lines, and a landed-cost total.

Compliance Flags

Missing origin, zero or missing value, unit values low enough to read as undervaluation, likely lithium batteries and likely FDA-regulated goods — raised on the entry itself.

Worksheet, CSV And History

A pre-filled ACE entry worksheet as PDF and CSV of the line items, one entry or all of them. Every entry keeps its original document alongside what was extracted from it.

FAQ

The Questions We Actually Get Asked

Still stuck on something? Email us and ask directly.

How accurate are the HS codes?
We don't publish an accuracy percentage, because we haven't measured one we would stand behind — and a number taken from someone else's invoices would tell you nothing about yours. What we can tell you is how it works: candidate headings are retrieved from the real HTS for each product, the model must choose from that shortlist, and every line comes back with a confidence score, one sentence of reasoning, and the alternatives it considered. Low-confidence lines are flagged rather than presented as settled. Run your own invoices through it and judge it on those.
Do I have to set up a template for each shipper?
No. There are no templates, no zone mapping and no per-shipper configuration. A supplier whose invoice you have never seen processes the same as one you have had a hundred times — which is what makes it workable for a long tail of occasional suppliers.
What if it gets a code wrong?
You correct it. The results table is editable end to end — code, description, quantity, value, origin, and the parties — and the worksheet is regenerated from your version, with the entry marked as reviewed. Be aware of what does not happen: corrections apply to that entry only. Odyssin does not currently learn from them or carry them forward to the next invoice from the same shipper.
What do I actually get out of it?
A pre-filled ACE entry worksheet as a PDF, and a CSV of the line items — per entry or your whole history — with the source document kept alongside. What you do not get yet is a 7501 or an ABI transmission: this drafts the entry, it does not file it, so the data still has to reach your filing software. If that is a dealbreaker, tell us before you buy rather than after.
Does it work out the duty?
It estimates it. Ad-valorem duty per line comes from the bundled HTS rates, plus MPF (inside its statutory minimum and maximum), HMF where the entry is by sea, freight allocated across the lines, and a landed-cost total. Three things it deliberately does not do: Section 301 and AD/CVD are not included, which understates duty on China-origin goods in particular; specific and compound rates (cents per kilo and the like) need weights the invoice rarely carries, so they are flagged rather than guessed; and where a rate is inherited from a parent heading it says so. Treat it as a planning figure to check, not a number to file.
How long does setup take?
Minutes. Sign up with a work email address, confirm it, drag in a PDF. There is nothing to configure — no templates, no rules to write, no integration to connect, no implementation project and no onboarding call unless you want one.
Is my data safe?
Your account only ever sees its own entries — ownership is checked on every document, PDF and export. Uploads and generated worksheets live in private storage, sessions are verified against the auth server on each request, and you can delete your data. Be aware that extraction and classification run on Google Gemini, so the document is sent there to be read. The formal security documentation is still being finished, so if your review needs specifics on encryption, retention or sub-processors, email us and we will tell you exactly where each one stands today rather than point you at a marketing page.
What files can it read?
PDF, PNG and JPG, up to 15 MB — checked by their actual content, not the file extension. Native PDF exports, flatbed scans, phone photos and multi-page invoices all work. The original goes to the model as an image so the table layout survives; if that fails, it falls back to the PDF text layer, then OCR, then a plain parser. A poor scan degrades the result rather than failing outright — and low-confidence lines are marked as such.
Can I file straight from this?
No, and that is deliberate. Everything Odyssin produces is a draft for review by a licensed customs broker or a qualified person, and every output carries that disclaimer. Nothing is submitted to CBP, nothing files automatically, and we are not affiliated with CBP. You are responsible for what you file.
What does it cost?
There's no public price list. What you pay depends on your monthly entry volume, the state of your documents and what you need out of it — a table on a web page would be wrong for most of the people reading it. Email contact@odyssin.com with a rough monthly entry count and we'll come back with a number.
Can I stop whenever I want?
Yes — there's no annual contract to unwind and no retention conversation. Whatever we agree is set out in writing between us, and you can end it on the terms in that agreement. On the way out you can export every entry and line item as CSV. Your data belongs to you.
